The 2011 – 2012 Calgary
Stampede Queen and Princesses competition is now officially open to eligible
applicants.
The chance of a
lifetime – in 2012, the Calgary Stampede will celebrate its centennial – 100 years
of promoting Western heritage and values. The Calgary Stampede is looking for 3
very special ladies to represent the Stampede through this amazing journey.

Conditions of Entry
·
Must be a female
not less than 19 years of age and not more than 24 years of age on August 1,
2011
·
Must include a
copy of your birth certificate with your entry form
·
Must be a Canadian
Citizen
·
Must be a current
resident and have been a resident of Alberta
for a minimum of the last 12 months
·
Must never have
been married nor have had a child
·
Must agree to
reside within a 100 km radius of Stampede
Park. Place of employment
or educational institution must also meet this requirement
·
Must have received
a High School diploma or equivalent
·
Must possess a
current, valid Alberta
driver's license and have full access to a vehicle
·
Must not have a
criminal record and must consent to a security check
·
Competent riding
ability is a necessity*
*To comply with Stampede Equine Safety
Policy, applicants are REQUIRED to:
· Mail in a basic video on DVD
or USB (3 minutes max.)
demonstrating a mount dismount, walk, trot, lope and figure eight on a horse of
your choice
OR
· Send in a signed letter of reference from a bona fide
equestrian trainer attesting to your equestrian skills and abilities
Judging
·
You will be judged
by a minimum of 15 local men and women from all walks of life
·
·
Members of the
Calgary Stampede Board of Directors, management and staff, as well as members
of the Royalty Committee and their spouses are ineligible to judge
Competition applications
accepted June 1 to August 26, 2011
Competition Commences: Thursday,
September 1, 2011
Crowning Ceremony:
Sunday, October 2, 2011
